Experimental videoclip for Shoko Igarashi's song Belleville. A combination of mocap, photoscanning and gausian splats. Made with Maxim Hectors 👬
Inspired by the rapid sonic movements in Belleville we decided we wanted to visualise the energy of moving through a bustling city where colours, light streaks and passing objects can be joyfully overwhelming. Starting from a 3D scan from Shoko’s face we made an avatar that dances through a vibrating, pulsating abstract cityscape. Her movements are dances from Shoko, Maxim and the professional dancer Izah Hankammer recorded with a motion capture set-up. We show the abstract and almost psychedelic visualisation of these feelings as a kind of charming daydream of Shoko, who’s wandering at ease through the attractions of a fairground in Brussels. The result is a dreamlike, experimental music video that blends live-action video and digital animation.
